Strawberry Vodka: The Making of a Basil Strawberry Vodka Martini that will knock your socks off!
Step 1: The Patience

This is a 4-part story:

Step 1: The Patience | Step 2: The Wait | Step 3: The Joy | Step 4: The Girls

1. Get good ingredients
You need two boxes of fresh good-quality strawberries per 0.75 liter bottle of vodka.

2. Wash
Nothing like a good bath! And when you’re done, wash ‘em strawberries, too, please.

[NB: that Stoli in the background is not for this recipe :-)]

3. You have to mince them
Slice them nice and small. I would recommend against a food processor – although you’ll get even smaller pieces you’ll endup mixing juice, … Trust me, I’ve tried both ways and this is better.

4. Get a container bigger than you think you need
That’s a 2 litter jar left over from some pickled something [don’t forget to wash it!!]. See, two boxes of minced strawberries fill it up nicely.

5. Fill it up!
See that 1.5 l bottle in the back? That’s right. About 0.75 l fit in nicely just like that. I use Smirnoff which is probably the best cheaper vodka – it’s in a glass container [yes, that’s important] and doesn’t cost like some of the other brands. Also, I would laugh if you make this with Belvedere or something :-)

Now we wait. Wait’s 2 weeks total. I just keep the jar right there in the kitchen. Not in the fridge. Not in too much sun.
More to come…
