my 30th birthday
July 12th, 2008 I turned 30 and jumped from a plane :-)

Hello and welcome to my birthday celebration!! :-)

This is my 30th.  This day, really, marked a certain interesting spot in my life.  You see, this last year had changed me ALOT.  Those of you who know me have been commenting on that quite a bit (and partaking).

I will not speak of anything bad now and will just say that this year I have witnessed many things one would normally refer to as a "learning experience".  I am now much more experienced than I have been a year ago and am ready for the next 10 years as a future faculty [fingers crossed], a future husband [no, no rings yet, but...], and a future father [no, nothing yet, but I'm ready].

One of the most important decisions I have made is to "live a little".  What do I mean by that?  Well, rather than 8 hours at a pub and gallons of cheap beer...  Live a little!  Grab a camera and go have a "photoshoot" out on the town, fly to see my friends for a few days, jump out of the plane, why not?

So, what date better than my b-day for the jump??!! :-)

Long story short, here's the video:

Fun, huh?

I am not even going to attempt to describe what I felt like and what "it" felt like.  I will tell you this, if you have not done it, go do it! :-)  Perspective on life changes.

Actually, I would not mind answering questions about this flights on my other site.

Here are some photos I got along with the video.

This is Dave, my brother Alex, myself, Rob, and Moogega.

Right before the jump.  Harnessed up and scared-shitless.

That's my Slovakian (or Slovanian?) trainer.  Good guy.  Ever seen me THIS scared?

Our plane was very nice!  Much nicer than the smaller ones where you get to jump from the side door.  Here we all jumped from the back.  Mad good time!!

Yay!  Only a few minutes left...

Moogega with her trainer.

Alex with his.

Dave with his.

And Rob with... with a window.

This lady and her boyfriend were on the plane with us, too.  She was scared even more than I was, I think :-)

That's the boyfriend.  Crazy dude!  He actually jumped twice that day.

And here's me with the crazed-up look on my face.  Not easy peanuts :-)

WE ARE NEXT...

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaand... OUT!

Oh, my.

This is nutts!  My mouth is in constant state of screaming!  WOW!  Yeah!!

Wind is really strong.  My face is flapping from mouth open.  Cool! :-)

Aaaaaaaa

Ooooh Ahhhhh

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH

:)

Look at my hair!

Oh, my!

Here, ma, I'm flying :-)

No, seriously!

Go Yankees! :-)

This just keeps going...  About 90 seconds of falling...

Well, he's happy :-)

:-)

Yeah, flying, see?

And the parachute is out!

At this point, the video guy flew faster than us so he can land and get our video from the ground already.

I'm alive!!

And here are some of the photos from my pocket camera.

We're all signing our life away here.  30-40 signatures later...  Whatever happens, my ass is theirs now.

And... Sign.

And... Wait :)

Play some ball, chill.  Waiting for the call.

Yawning, sleepy :-)

Walking around without a reason.  Waiting. Scared.

We'll be there soon. Do you realize it?  Me, not really.

Moo doesn't either, I don't think.

Oh, yes!! :-))  That's it.  Done. Fun fun!!
