Plasma Medicine in the news (issue 1)
October 25th, 2007

So, this will be my first post on this. There are many more to come.

I am now listing here every occurrence of “Plasma Medicine” in the news or on the web.

My daily Google news search returned this today.

Real U.S. news posted a link in their Corpus Christi section about the recent PlasmaMed-1 conference. “Plasma may help kill staph” - The Money Times.

This, of course, is not entirely correct:

Gary Friedman, associate director of biomedical plasma research at the Drexel Plasma Institute, said European studies indicate plasma — or gas that has been electrically charged — kills bacteria without adverse effects on human skin, The Corpus Christi Caller-Times said Friday.

Friedman, who was attending the International Conference on Plasma Medicine this week in Corpus Christi, Texas, said plasma can sterilize tissue and wounds in five to 10 seconds. The process, however, has not been tested in the United States.

This IS being tested in U.S…. I mean, this is exactly what I do all the time in the lab. Here, just check the list of my publications.

No matter, it’s nice to see plasma in the news without some kind of relation to some kind of a blood disease.
